Rarely do I ever get to see the fruits of my labor. I wont know for years whether my 6th graders go on to college, or even stay in school…but luckily this summer I’ve gotten to see the potential fora successful endeavor. Going to the school that 8 of the 30 GOALS DREAM TEAM SCHOLARSHIP FUND receipients attended this year, and watching them work hard on their state exams was an absolute pleasure.

Side Note : Funnily enough the first time I went I was not allowed in. Before I could enter the, the school master cut me off at the gate, letting me know in no uncertain terms that I could not enter his location in shorts. It was heartening to see such a strong stance on decorum. As a teacher I’ve learned that sweating the small stuff generally leads to greater success in the large avenues of education. I’m excited
